History of ICEAN GAMES

The ICEAN Games began in October 2002 during the time of Hon. Dan Virgel Ratilla and his fellow officers. The festival of the Institute of Computing before was called the "IC FESTIVAL" but the turn-out of ideas were overwhelming as such was the formulation of the ICEAN GAMES. The formal agreement was affirmed by Engr. Roberto I. Canda, Director of the Institute of Computing with the local council officers last October 21, 2002.

The first ICEAN Games was celebrated last November 29 to December 2002. The new festival name was accompanied by its new logo bearing four colors - red, blue, yellow and green. The activities were Musical and Dance, Literary, Search for Mr. & Miss IC 2002, Quiz Bowl, Web Page Design and many others. The highlight of all events was focused in the search for Mr. & Miss IC 2002 which during that time the crowned winners were Ms. Rosandy Almacin and Mr. Allileo Brenn Abanto.

With the efforts contributed, the sponsors of the ICEAN GAMES were David Salon, MYX FM 105.9, New Jersey Studio, I-Flex Body Fitness and Gym, Garden Oases, and many others. The faculty of the Institute of Computing also poured out funding for the said events and most especially, solicitations from the students of the Institute of Computing.

The over-all activity was successful for the local council and to the students. With the coordination and participation of every individual, surely the first ICEAN GAMES made a difference and was simply the best in the history of IC.

(I actually saw this write up about the history of the ICEAN GAMES in the engineering lobby and thought it would be nice to post it in my blog and I made some revisions so I would like to say "peace" to the one who wrote it.)
